Hey folks, MISA is getting ready to take you to a ski trip to the owl’s head ski resort on Sun. 31 Jan 2010!, and you are more than welcome to participate. On the ski resort Owl’s Head ski resort is located at south-east of Montreal, and it will take about 1h20 to get there from Montreal downtown. for more information about the site, visit: www.owlshead.com Schedule Bus will be ready on Sunday, Jan 31th, at 6.30 am., in front of McGill Roddick gate (Sherbrooke St entrance) and It is strongly recommended to be there on time, as loading and checking in will take time. The bus will LEAVE McGill at 7:00 am. Tickets 35$ for McGill students (be advised to bring you ID on the day of trip) 45$ for gusts and accompanying persons Tickets will be available in MacDonald Engineering Building, Room 391 by Ali Ghaffari (ghaffarie081@yahoo.com) Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 12:00 pm. to 4:00 pm. The price includes Transportation, Lift Ticket and Ski Rental. Some general suggestions - We would suggest you to bring your own food, as the prices are quite expensive at the ski resort. You may pick your food packages from the bus, at appropriate time, as the bus will be available there. - Remember to bring warm cloths, and waterproof sportswear (ski!). Don’t forget sunglasses and ski glows. - Please have your McGill ID cards or any other valid IDs with your photo on. h Dear MISA members, MISA is going to hold a party for YALDA in Dec 21, 09. The event will be at Donini restaurant, 3425 St. Denis (few blocks from Sherbrook intersection). The program would be in 2 parts: 1- The first part is a cultural event. There will hopefully be live music, poem and speech accompanied with buffet dinner. This part starts at 7:30 and dinner will be served at 9:00. 2- The second part is a dance stage + special YALDA refreshments! It starts at 9:30 to 1:00 am. Tickets The ticket for part 1 and 2 is 10$ and it will be sold only on Dec 15, 16, and 17. As there is few place available, if you are interested, contact Mehdi (MacDonald Engineering Bld, Room 371), Soroor (Wong Engineering Bld, Room 7220), and Hesam (Wong Engineering Bld, Room 5300). The ticket for the second part of the party will be 5$ and we encourage you to buy the ticket in advance as the place is not too spacious and few tickets are available. Note- Drinks would be served in your request and it is not included in the tickets. Looking forward to seeing you there, h h h *** Call for volunteers *** Your friends at MISA need your help in order to enrich your event with your kind contribution: For the cultural part of our YALDA event, MISA is interested to have live music performance and cultural activities (like poetry, talk and performance), and we need your help, if you are able to make it. There are two ways you could help your friends at MISA Live music performance: If you can play special musical instrument and interested to contribute (any style any musical instrument), MISA cordially invites you to contact Hesam (hesam.dadafarin@mail.mcgill.ca) to set for you performance. Also, for the cultural section, if you have any specific idea or can make a contribution, we urge you to contact with Soroor (soroor.javanroshtkhari@mail.mcgill.ca) to set the plan. We are interested for a plan for YALDA night, speech and talk and poem section. Dear Friends, Though, we may come together in a warm and pleasant place, (a cosy one) and watch a nice biographical drama-romance on the life of famous “Amadeo Madigliani“, an artist( painter) of the 1910s. “Omid Jalili” an Iranian actor is playing for Pablo Picaso, contemporary to Modigiliani. We invite you to come, and share good moments with other friends. It is going to be at Lev Bukhman room, SSMU Building, second floor. The show would start at 7:00 pm, Saturday the 24 Oct. Runtime will be about 2 hours. We are looking to have a brief film review right afer the run. MISA has decided to hold a Daytrip in the middle of August so that you can take a breath during these damn sweaty, hot days! We hope that we can have this gathering on Saturday, August 15th.
