MISA, standing for “McGill Iranian Students Association” (According to the constitution, Article 1), founded in 2000, is a student club in McGill University which aims to serve Iranian community. According to the constitution (Article 2), ratified by SSMU, MISA is a non-profit student organization at McGill University.

MISA represent and promote the Iranian community and Iranian culture and heritage at McGill University. It also helps Iranian society with their academic and non-academic life as much as possible.

It organizes social and cultural activities and provides its Iranian members with information, news, and support.

According to constitution (Article 4), an Executive Committee shall administer the Club and oversee its events. The EC is composed of the following four portfolios:

President

President is the chief executive officer, chief representative, and chief spokesperson of the Club. President is responsible for smooth running of the Club and functioning of the Club according to its mandate.

Vice President External

VP External act as representative of the Club to the community outside of the University. She/he is responsible for developing healthy relations with student and community organizations outside McGill, and particularly those in the Montreal area.

Vice President Internal

VP Internal act as the representative of the Club within the University community. She/he is responsible for communication within the EC, with other McGill University student organizations, and with the Students� Society of McGill University. VP Internal should oversee and coordinate programming the activities and events of the Club.

Vice President Finance

VP Finance is the person in charge for financial affairs within the EC and MISA. She/he Co-sign all financial transactions with the President. She/he is responsible for the collection of membership fees. VP Finance should ensure the funding and financial stability of the Club.

Aforementioned article is revised through Bylaw 3 (According to constitution, Article 8 ) which was approved by new administration on June 6th 2009, to smooth the function of the club. Since then, we have two more official positions as:

Vice President for IT Communication

Person in charge for IT Communication should maintain smooth connection of MISA EC with MISA members. She/he is responsible for Email responses, collecting feedbacks from community, publish events and activities.

Vice President for web administration

Person in charge for IT web admin should maintain smooth functioning of the website, as well as publishing news and events on it. She/he should update the website regularly in order to meet the MISA community�s demands.
